Privacy policy
Doodletone lets you draw on a canvas and hear your drawing play as music. This policy explains what stays on your phone and what is shared.
Your songs stay on your phone
The songs you draw (their strokes, names, scale, key and tempo) and your app settings (show notes, vibration, which tips you have seen, and whether the studio pack is unlocked today) are kept in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. We also keep a small on-phone count of songs you have played, used only to decide when to show ads and when to ask once for a Play Store review.
Sound is made on your phone
Every sound is created on your phone. Doodletone does not record audio, does not use the microphone and does not send your music anywhere.
Saving a song as a WAV file
When you choose Save as WAV, Doodletone creates the audio file on your phone and opens Android's share sheet. The file only goes where you choose to send or save it. Doodletone never sees or keeps a copy elsewhere.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Doodletone is free and shows ads using Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). The ads SDK only starts after you have made and played your first song, or when you choose to watch a video for an optional extra. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
- device and app information (for example device model, OS version, app version),
- ad interactions (for example which ads were shown or tapped), and crash or diagnostic data from the ads SDK.
This data is collected by Google, not by NK Tools, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Doodletone asks for your consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings › Ad privacy choices in the app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs besides the ads described above.
- We don't sell your data, and we never receive your songs.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: used only to load ads.
- Advertising ID: used by the ads SDK as described above.
Doodletone asks for no runtime permissions: no microphone, storage, photos, contacts, camera or location access.
Children
Doodletone is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
